AVAILABLE FOR: INJECTION MOULDING BLOWN FILM PIPE & PROFILE EXTRUSION BLOW MOULDINGPre-requisites:There is no requirement that a candidate must have attended a PTL training programme in order to attempt to secure their full City & Guilds Polymer Processing Award. However, all level 3 courses have been designed to provide sufficient underpinning knowledge in order for candidates to be successful in this regard. The full award is granted against the successful completion of both assessment elements described below. Knowledge Assessment:These can be undertaken on specific test events organised via PTL throughout the year. A separate assessment is used for each specific process but each comprises of 80 multiple-choice questions across all aspects of the process. Specific topics include: Machine Design, Health & Safety, Materials, Quality, Mould Design, Machine Control, Processing and Troubleshooting. A maximum time period of 2.5 hours is allowed to complete the Knowledge Assessment. The cost to complete this Knowledge Assessment is £90 per person. Practical (End Test) AssessmentThese can only be undertaken at a City & Guilds registered test centre by candidates who have already successfully passed the Knowledge Assessment described above. A minimum period of six weeks must have passed between the two test dates but must be no longer than twelve months apart. Two separate candidates can be assessed during a single day with dates being made available at the time of order placement. This Practical Assessment is split into two separate elements that each have a maximum time limit of 2.5 hours to complete. Certification:Although the activities are conducted by representatives of PTL, the result of either assessment will be communicated directly to participating companies via SASL (Polymer Awarding Body).
