The Trustees of The Polymer Industry Education and Training Trust (PIETT) are pleased to announce that they have sold their wholly owned subsidiary, Polymer Training Limited (PTL), to Next-tec Ltd. The deal was completed on Thursday 1st November 2007 when the employees and assets of PTL were transferred to Next- tec. Ed Weeks, Chairman of PIETT, commented “ We are delighted that Next- tec have acquired PTL. We announced some time ago that we were seeking a new owner who would safeguard the position of PTL as the lead provider of vocational training for our industry. The assurances we have received from Next-tec, that they will not only continue with the existing activities of PTL but also expand into new areas, give us confidence that PTL will have a bright and sustainable future. Additionally, we are optimistic that Next- tec will build on the opportunities presented by the establishment of the polymer hub of the Process Industries National Skills Academy. This will significantly increase the provision of training for the polymer sector” Peter Smith, Managing Director of Next-tec, said: “We are grateful to the Trustees of PIETT for allowing us this opportunity. As with all opportunities comes responsibility and we shall be building on the foundations laid down by them to expand and increase the service PTL provides to the industry.” PIETT is a registered charity supporting education and training in the polymer industry. PTL is the UK’s premier provider of vocational education and training services to the polymer industry. Next - tec Ltd is a provider of innovative waste recycling solutions including the patented Polycycle process for plastics waste. Next tec is also active in offering training programmes for the recycling industry. www.next-tec-ltd.com Contact: Peter Smith, Managing Director, This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it 01889 271010 |
