Winner of the Polymer Design and Moulding Exhibition 2008 Workshops Quiz, Mr Robert Anscombe of Raymarine UK Limited, based in Portsmouth, Hampshire was awarded his prize this week by Andy Barnard of Polymer Training Limited who organised the quiz. Mr Anscombe is Senior Buyer at Raymarine UK.
The workshops were run throughout the duration of PDM held at the Telford International Centre recently and were extremely well attended. Subjects ranged from design principles to process troubleshooting. Robert's objectives before attending the workshops were to broaden his technical knowledge and to gain an awareness of the processing and educational aspects of the business. He said: "I achieved my objectives and the workshops broadened my knowledge on the processing side. This bolsters my existing experience. The workshops not only covered but reinforced the stages that we go through at work. The workshops were well presented and I would like to thank the organisers for arranging them. Winning the Red Letter Day was an added bonus!" Andy Barnard of PTL who ran some of the workshops said: "It was a real pleasure to find that the short training events were well received and of real benefit to the visitors. The whole concept was to give attendees an idea of real issues that revolve around real life situations in a bid to make them more competitive for the future.” The PDM Quiz first prize of £250 was very generously donated by Crain, the organisers of PDM 08.
