Train To Gain Print E-mail

Train to Gain is a unique opportunity for employers to develop their staff. The programme is funded by the Government through the Learning and Skills Council and is available to employers in England.

The aim of the programme is to support employees who do not posses a level 2 qualification. The programme of Assess Train Assess is the model supported by the LSC and will include an Organisational Needs Analysis as well as Training Needs Analysis for the learners.

The programme will include training together with formal assessment against the National Standard for the industry. The expectation is for all eligible learners to achieve an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent. Better qualified employees are:

• More Productive
• Better able to adapt to change and the introduction of new technology
• More committed to their employer and able to make a greater contribution to the business.

"I have recently attended the Product Design with Plastics course at PTL, which was of an exceptional standard. As a Industrial Designer I felt the course was highly intensive, covering a broad topic area including polymer selection, design for manufacture and mould design. The training staff were both friendly and knowledgeable" Gethin Roberts - The National Centre for Product Design & Development Research (PDR)
