Pre-requisites:

Candidates should have been employed within a plastics processing enviornment for a period of no less than 12 months and have someknowledge of the manufacturing process either as a Senior Operator, Technician, Supervisor, Team Leader or manager.

Aim of the course:

This course is designed to provide candidates with an introduction to the national standard for candidate assessment against NVQ criteria. Much of the course is spent discussing the theory of assessment, which is then supported by a range of practical exercises.

Who should attend:

  • In-house Trainers and Training Co-ordiantors
  • Production Supervisors and Team Leaders
  • Any individual with candidate assessment responsibilities associated with companies who are operating as NVQ Approved Centres

Objectives of the course:

On completion of the course the delegates will be able to:

  • Create action plans in orde to ensure that assessments can take place
  • Make assessment decisions and judgments based on different types of evidence
  • Compile a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate competence as an Assessor
  • Conduct assessments of NVQ candidates, in-company, according to national requirements

Duration:

2 day course programme (9.00am - 4.30pm)

Qualification:

Candidates will be expected to compile a portfolio of evidence generated by conducting actual candidate assessments in company, whilst being observed by an External Assessor.

Candidates will then be issued with the A1, Asessment Skills Award.
