Pre-requisites:

Candidates should have been employed within a plastics processing environment for a period of no less than 12 months and have some knowledge of the manufacturing process either as a Manager, Senior Operator, Technician or Supervisor. They should also have at least 12 months' experience of assessment processes as either a Trainer, Assessor or Supervisor/Line Manager.

Aim of the course:

This course if designed to provide candidates with an introduction to the national standard for candidate verification against NVQ criteria. Much of the course is spent discussing the theory of verification, which is then supported by a range of practical exercies.

Who should attend:

This programme is especially suited for those individuals who wish to start up an NVQ approved centre for the first time within their own company. Other staff that would benefit from attending include:

  • In-house Trainers, Training Co-ordinators and Assessors
  • Production Supervisors and Team Leaders
  • Any individual with candidate assessment verification responsibilities associated with companies who are operating as NVQ Approved Centres

Objectives of the course:

On completion of the course the delegates will be able to:

  • Create action plans in order to ensure that assessment verifications can take place
  • Make verification decisions and judgements based on different assessments
  • Support a team of in-house Assessors
  • Compile a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate competence as an Verifier
  • Take responsibility for the quality assurance of the assessment processes within an in-house NVQ aproved centre
  • Establish the systems and procedures required to set-up a new NVQ Approved Centre if and when this is required.

Duration:

2 day course programme (9.00am - 4.30pm)

Qualification:

Candidates will be expected to compile a portfolio of evidence generated by conducting actual assessment verifications in-company, at least one of which will need to be observed by an External Assessor. The quality assurance systems of their centre will also be evaluated.

Candidiates will then be issued the V1, Verification Skills Award
