PTL is the first centre to be approved by Skills Assurance Service Ltd (SASL) to offer assessments for polymer NVQ’s within a training establishment. The approval has been granted on the basis of PTL’s ability to accurately replicate industrial conditions and processes on industry standard machinery and is a welcome boost to NVQ’s in the sector. ‘We are delighted by this development, said Raymond Clarke, Chief Executive of PTL. “The changes will allow students to gain nationally recognised qualifications quickly, economically and in an environment which is geared to the development of excellence. We are grateful to the team at SASL for championing this development and welcome the confidence shown in PTL to deliver this initiative”. Gill Pearce, General Manager of SASL commented “The changes have been designed to assist with access of new recruits to the industry, and give those students who are not employed within a recognised NVQ centre the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications. It is widely recognised that polymer specific NVQ’s provide real value to the industry in the way that more generic qualifications cannot. By developing this opportunity, we have increased the opportunity for the industry to gain the most from the education and assessment system”.
