Agreement with SASL (new contract) Print E-mail

PTL and the Skills Assurance Service Ltd (SASL) have reached agreement for the development and delivery of qualifications for the polymer industry. Under the agreement, PTL will work with SASL to develop qualifications for the sector and adopt nationally recognised SASL qualifications for many of the programmes that are run at the Telford centre or on client sites.

In welcoming the agreement, Gill Pearce, General Manager of SASL said, ‘This agreement marks a significant development in the activities of SASL. We have built our reputation on National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) and, with the assistance of PTL, we are now moving into providing Vocationally Related Qualifications. These qualifications are based on National Occupational Standards and are nationally recognised.'

Charmaine Bowers, Operations Manager at PTL said ‘In ensuring that training and qualifications are relevant to employer needs, it is important that training companies and awarding bodies work closely together. This agreement provides an excellent platform for co-operation and future development.’

In a further development, SASL has approved the PTL centre in Telford for NVQ assessment, which will help speed the delivery and completion of NVQs in the industry, in a controlled industrial environment.

"The PTL Courses have been extremely valuable to Symphony, and we wish to run them on a regular basis. The in-house courses have been especially valuable, we operate in 40 countries and have a wide spectrum of distributors and agents. They come from different backgrounds and industry disciplines. Therefore the PTL courses have been an essential tool in providing education and backup for these people. Now we can be sure all our international colleagues are 'singing from the same hymn sheet'.

The courses for both existing and prospective customers have been equally effective. Using PTL has given a sense of credibility that a corporate exercise could not match. The events have been so  successful that a number of retailers have requested specialised 'me-only' courses for their staff members. The facilities, credibility and quality of presenters at the PTL courses are exemplary and prove a valuable educational, morale booster and sales tool for our company".
